As a trained opera singer, I know the magic of singing using breath rather than muscular force to achieve great beauty, power, and ease in my voice and in my students’ voices.
I help kids learn to release their voices, rather than push them out, and have a ton of fun at the same time. This ensures very healthy, happy vocal cords, as well as a very natural, beautiful, easy road to self-expression.
With my training, kids learn to emulate their idols — if they want to — without strain or vocal damage, but with growing self-confidence and ease and delight.
They also find and develop their own unique God-given voice and style. This frees not only their voices, it frees their spirits.
In my unique approach to singing I use Breathing Coordination, the game-changing breathing technique pioneered by breathing therapist, Carl Stough, who worked with Olympic athletes and superstar musicians alike, including famed trumpeter, Wynton Marsalis, and my own voice teacher, Metropolitan Opera star, Atarah Hazzan. It brings about a glorious release of people’s singing voices.
What a lot of people don’t understand is that singing scales and exercises is not the answer. If you don’t know how to sing them, they can actually damage your voice.
I specialize in teaching my students HOW to approach their singing, HOW to practice — not just to do exercises mindlessly by rote.
I have not only helped students of mine to find their own unique voices, the sheer joy of self-expression, and develop powerful singing skills, many of my students have gone on to gain admission to top music schools, including NYU’s Tisch school of performing arts, USC and Berklee College, have been finalists in competitions such as American Idol and have successfully entered music careers in musical theater, as pop and singer-songwriter/recording artists, and as opera singers.Â

A little about Rebekah
I myself trained classically in opera at Oberlin Conservatory, and San Francisco Conservatory, and began my career in Europe. I later started writing my own music and became an award-winning, chart-topping recording artist in the Celtic/New Age genres, and have performed the world over.
My singing and music are also featured on the soundtracks of two award-winning films, and I’ve produced music with Academy award-winning composers, and Grammy winners alike.
